REGISTERED NURSE - CARDIAC STEPDOWN

DESCRIPTION:

Schedule:

Every other weekend & holiday required
No blocked scheduling
Local candidates accepted

Patient Population:

CHF
Post–heart catheterization
Post–vascular procedures
Cardiac dysrhythmias
Respiratory failure (BiPAP/CPAP)
Acute Stroke (CVA)

Responsibilities:

Continuous cardiac monitoring & dysrhythmia management
Post-cath care (TR bands, frequent VS & neurovascular checks)
Cardiac drip titration
12-lead EKG interpretation
IV starts, PICC & central line management
Blood product administration
Procedural sedation monitoring
Stroke assessments (NIHSS)
Infection prevention & isolation precautions

Requirements:

Active RN license
1+ year recent Step-Down experience
1+ year post-cardiac cath experience (required)
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (required)
PALS (preferred)
