Here is a short, clean recruiter summary: OB / L&D RN Required Certifications BLS NRP Fetal Heart Monitoring Facility Policy: Can cancel 1 shift every other week Unit Details 15–17 births per month Nurse will cover: Labor & Delivery Mother-Baby Newborn Nursery Couplet Care GYN Surgery patients May float to Med/Surg if no OB patients If not comfortable taking Med/Surg assignment, RN will assist with vitals, meds, etc. Team Structure RN works alongside an LPN RN responsible for: Laboring patients Triage Initial assessments Mother-baby care LPN role: Cannot labor or triage patients Cannot perform initial assessments Assists with EFM, patient support, baby nurse role, documentation Baby assessments must be validated by RN Additional Notes Small unit with strong support Transfer Coordinator (House Supervisor) available for assistance In emergencies, LPN goes to OR for baby while RN remains on unit
