Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Athens, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Prepare patients for examinations and perform diagnostic radiology procedures.
• Follow guidelines set by OhioHealth and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Work schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours each on varied shifts; every other weekend and every other holiday.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Ohio Radiologic License (ODH Ohio Radiologic License).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (AHA preferred, ARC or Military also accepted).
• Thorough knowledge of medical imaging procedures, equipment, radiographic anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology.
• Ability to handle and administer ionizing radiation including contrast media agents.
• Strong customer service skills, pleasant demeanor, and ability to work as a team member with limited supervision.
• Effective written and verbal communication and organizational skills.

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Required years of experience: Not explicitly stated; default to standard for X-Ray Tech (typically entry-level to 1+ years). No higher requirement indicated.
• Prior travel experience: Not required.

Certifications and Licenses

• Ohio Radiographer State License required.
• ARRT certification required.
• BLS certification required.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 2 years prior to start, indicating clearance to work without restrictions.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months of start.
• Respirator fit test documentation within 1 year (if applicable).
• Drug screening: Negative 9 or 10 panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start (marijuana tested, no medical marijuana exceptions).
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required.
• Immunizations or proof of immunity for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Hepatitis B as per facility standards.
• TB questionnaire required within 90 days of start.

Background Checks and Compliance

• 7-year background check completed within 1 year before start date, including SS trace, county searches, nationwide criminal search, sex offender search, and sanctions screening.
• Fingerprinting required on-site or prior to orientation.
• State-specific registries and offender searches as applicable.

Additional Requirements

• Must be located more than 100 miles from the central facility to be eligible.
• Must complete facility-specific agreements and confidentiality policies prior to start.
• Required competency exams including color blindness test (100% pass required), medication/pharmacology competency, and unit-specific competency exams.

Work Environment

• Facility carries latex-free gloves and can accommodate latex allergies.
• Shift work with varied hours including weekends and holidays.
