Description
OB/GYN Sonographer (RDMS – OB/GYN)
Location: Southgate, KY
Facility: The Christ Hospital – OBGYN Ultrasound (Anderson)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: March 9, 2026
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | 40 hours/week
Position Overview
The Christ Hospital is seeking a skilled Registered OB/GYN Sonographer to join its outpatient OBGYN practice in Southgate, KY. The sonographer will perform high-quality obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound examinations in accordance with established professional standards while working under the direction of the physician and clinical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive OB/GYN ultrasound imaging and procedural duties
- Follow established testing protocols and professional standards (AIUM/ACOG)
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images using M-mode, pulse, and color Doppler
- Prepare patients and provide ultrasound-guided assistance during procedures
- Obtain and review appropriate patient history prior to exams
- Ensure accurate documentation, structured reporting, and exam tracking in HIS/PACS
- Maintain workflow efficiency and accommodate same-day add-on or emergency exams
- Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, and patients
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, infection control, and departmental policies
- Participate in peer review and process improvement initiatives
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and report service needs
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of high-risk or office-based OB/GYN ultrasound experience
- Strong knowledge of fetal and cross-sectional anatomy
- Proficiency with Doppler techniques and real-time imaging
- Experience with PACS and structured reporting systems
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Education & Certification Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Ultrasound/Allied Health
OR Graduate of an accredited ultrasound training program - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) – OB/GYN required
- BLS (AHA) required
- 30 ARDMS CEUs every 3 years
