Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

 

Location: Colville, WA

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: Day Shift (07:00 – 19:00) | 3x12-Hour shifts

 

Job Summary

A Hospital in Colville, WA, a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, is looking for a versatile Registered Respiratory Therapist. Unlike many rural settings, this facility features advanced maternity suites and requires an RRT with a specific focus on Family Maternity and OB. You will be a key member of the interdisciplinary team, assisting in high-risk deliveries and providing specialized neonatal care while also supporting adult critical care and emergency services.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maternity & Neonatal Support: Attend high-risk deliveries and C-sections. Manage neonatal respiratory needs using specialized equipment like Bubble CPAP and Panda Warmers.
  • Clinical Procedures: Perform arterial punctures and interpret ABGs (Arterial Blood Gases). Draw and analyze capillary and umbilical blood gases for newborns.
  • Advanced Airway Management: Assist with intubations (Adult and Neonatal), perform extubations, and manage tracheostomy care and suctioning.
  • Ventilator Management: Operate and troubleshoot Puritan Bennett and Draeger ventilators. Manage non-invasive support including BiPAP and CPAP.
  • Diagnostics: Perform bedside spirometry and basic EKG interpretation. Provide inter-departmental patient transport for critically ill patients.
  • Medication Administration: Administer a wide range of respiratory medications including Albuterol, Nitric Oxide (iNo), and Mucomyst via various delivery systems.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience. Family Maternity and OB experience is mandatory.
  • Licensure: Valid Washington State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required at time of submission.
  • Certifications:
    • RRT (NBRC)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Mandatory
    • PALS, ACLS, and BLS (AHA)
  • Technical Proficiency: Epic EMR experience is required.
  • Traveler Status: Open to first-time travelers.

Assignment Details & Expectations

  • Patient Ratios: Consistent 1:3 ratio across days, nights, and weekends.
  • Floating: Mandatory floating between two sister facilities (approx. 30 minutes apart). Refusal to float may forfeit guaranteed hours.
  • Block Scheduling: Confirmed and required for this assignment.
  • On-Call: Not required.
  • Parking: No fee for onsite parking.
