Description
Registered Dietitian
Duties:
Under the supervision of the Nutrition Services Coordinator, serves as a member of the healthcare team who plans, directs, and implements nutrition intervention to patients based on specified assessment criteria. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient, with awareness of the principles of growth and development and assessment of data reflective of the patient’s status to determine specific requirements and needs and responses. Collaborates with other healthcare team members to coordinate hospital therapy and plan post discharge care. Provides nutrition therapy and education to promote healthier life style. Maintains professionalism by providing all services in accordance with clinical standards. Serve as preceptor for dietetic interns as needed.

• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and quality of nutrition care provided and make changes when needed
• Demonstrate effective writing and speaking skills.
• Demonstrate active listening skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to complete consults / assignments by the deadline.
• Demonstrate willingness to assist in other areas as needed.
• Successfully pass monthly chart audits
• Display a positive attitude regarding constructive criticism.
Education:
Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in nutrition, dietetics, or food service management to meet educational requirements of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics to successfully complete the Dietitian/National Registration Examination required.
Master degree preferred.
