Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department (ED) team on a contract basis. The ED is a 32-bed unit handling a diverse patient population, including adult and pediatric patients. Key areas of focus include primary stroke care, STEMI (ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction) management, behavioral health, critical care patients, and the use of advanced medical equipment. Nurses will be responsible for triage, patient assignments, and delivering high-quality emergency care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform triage and initial assessments for incoming patients, prioritizing based on acuity and departmental protocols.
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and pediatric patients, including those with critical conditions such as strokes, STEMIs, and behavioral health needs.
• Manage critical care patients, including monitoring and operating specialized equipment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assign patients and ensure efficient workflow in the ED.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with ED standards and protocols.
• Document patient care accurately and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Participate in every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) rotations as required.

Contract Details

• Schedule: Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) required

Requirements and Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department (ED) setting.
• Active New Jersey RN License (must be in hand at the time of application).
• Current certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale).
• Flu Immunization: Mandatory unless a valid medical exemption with supporting documentation is provided.
• Scrub Policy: Any color scrubs are acceptable as long as they are clean and professional.
