Job Opportunity: RN - Medical/Surgical (Travel)
Location: Marquette, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility Overview
- 225-bed specialty care hospital
- Services include Heart & Vascular Institute, Cancer Center, Brain & Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine & Weight Management, Women's Health, Pediatrics
- Trauma Level 2
- Patient population: Adult and geriatric (ages 18 - 125)
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) system: Cerner
Position Details
- Department: Acute Medical/Surgical
- Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Hours: Rotating
- Patient Ratios: 5:1 to 6:1
- Float Requirements: Occasional to similar units
- Equipment used: Telemetry monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Kangaroo pump, Bladder scanner, Dynamaps
Required Qualifications
- Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Specialty: Medical/Surgical
- Minimum Years of Experience: 2+ years in Medical/Surgical nursing
- Required Certifications: ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- Required License: Registered Nurse License (Michigan)
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required
- Must have strong critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
Additional Information
- Candidates must be located 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered
- Dress Code: Scrubs in Galaxy Blue (Navy also acceptable)
- Fingernails must be clean, not excessive in length, and comply with Hand Hygiene Policy
- Tattoos that may be offensive must be covered
- Excessive jewelry is not allowed
Summary
This is a travel RN position in a well-equipped, specialty care hospital in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The role requires at least 2 years of medical/surgical nursing experience, ACLS certification, and a Bachelor’s degree.
