Long Term Care Registered Nurse (RN)

Requirements (Must Have):

• Active Alaska RN license
• Current flu vaccination

Position Summary:
The RN provides and coordinates professional nursing care for residents of all ages in a long-term care setting. Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident care in accordance with physician orders, standards of care, and facility policies. Provides patient and family education and collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to maintain quality nursing practice.

Responsibilities:

• Independently makes clinical decisions during assigned shifts and maintains accountability for nursing actions
• Delegates and supervises CNAs, LPNs, and support staff
• Delivers safe, therapeutic, and efficient care, including infection control and medication administration
• Assesses resident needs, develops and updates care plans, and documents care in the EHR
• Communicates effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members
• May function as Charge Nurse in the absence of the DON
• Participates in staff education, orientation, and required competencies

Additional Information:

• Must be able to respond calmly in emergency situations
• Floating and leadership responsibilities may be required
• Other duties as assigned
