Position Type: 13 Weeks (40 Hours Expected)
Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (07:00 AM – 03:30 PM, Monday–Friday)
Weekly Pay Package: $1,570 Gross (Taxable Amount – $520 | Non-Taxable Stipend – $1,050)

Job Description:
• Certifications: Must hold MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT certification from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW/HHS (must be current if expiring).
• License: Louisiana State Laboratory License required.
 

Experience:
– No experience required for graduates of a NAACLS-accredited (or HHS-approved) clinical laboratory program OR
– Minimum 1 year of approved clinical laboratory experience within the last 5 years, including rotations in Blood Bank, Microbiology, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, and Urinalysis/Body Fluids.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science/medical technology from an accredited institution (or evaluated equivalent per CLIA regulations).
• Performs routine and complex laboratory testing, specimen processing, result calculation and reporting.
• Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots laboratory instruments; performs quality control procedures.
• Utilizes Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and documents critical values appropriately.
• Cross-trains to other laboratory sections as required.
• May perform phlebotomy and other patient-focused tasks as needed.
• Full-time travel assignment, day shift, no weekends specified.
