Shift: Variable (8, 10, or 12-hour shifts; Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends/Holidays)
On-Call: 0–3 times per month

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced PACU Registered Nurses to provide post-operative care for patients in Phase I and Phase II recovery. This role requires advanced knowledge of anesthesiology, critical care skills, and the ability to assess and monitor patient stability following surgery.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients pre-operatively and in post-anesthesia recovery.
• Monitor vital signs, incision sites, and other indicators of patient stability.
• Utilize critical thinking to identify and respond to complications.
• Operate and monitor specialized medical equipment (e.g., PCA pumps, IV pumps, monitors, warmers).
• Collaborate with surgical and critical care teams to ensure safe, effective patient care.
• Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records using EMR systems (EPIC).

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a critical care RN (ICU, ER) or PACU preferred.
• Active state RN license required upon acceptance of offer; candidates without Hawaii license must obtain one prior to start.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• PALS credential recommended; may be required for pediatric patients.
• Additional specialty certifications (e.g., NIHSS, TNCC) preferred.
• Ability to work variable shifts, including holidays and weekends.
• Strong critical thinking, patient assessment, and communication skills.
• Bilingual skills not required.
