Description
Facility Name: DCH Health System
Unit: MS/Tele Stroke 5N – Heart Failure / Stroke Unit
Location: Tuscaloosa, AL (809 University Blvd E, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401)
Position Title: RN – Med Surg Telemetry (Stroke/Heart Failure)
Position Type: Travel (Contractor Replacement)
Start Date: 03/16/2026
End Date: 06/14/2026
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights – 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (Will accept 36 or 48 hrs/week)
Weekends: Every Other
Holidays: As Required
Float: Must be willing to float to other units and DCH hospitals
Unit Details
• 42-bed Heart Failure / Stroke Unit
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Population: Neuro-cardiac patients (CHF, Acute Stroke, complex cardiac/neuro conditions)
• EMR: Meditech
• Dress Code: Solid Navy Scrubs
• Parking: Available
• Patient Facing: Yes
Requirements
Education:
• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (minimum required)
Licensure:
• Active Alabama RN license or Compact License
• No Temporary Licenses Accepted
• NURSYS verification required
Certifications (Required):
• AHA BLS (or Red Cross equivalent)
• ACLS
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Experience:
• 2 years RN experience preferred
• Will consider 18 months total RN experience
• Must have at least 1 year in MS/Tele or relevant specialty
