Unit Details
- Unit: Surgical Services – Floor 2
- # of Suites: 4 OR Suites + 1 Endoscopy Suite
- Average Cases Per Day: 8
Required Certifications
- Certified CST
- Must be NCCT or NBSTSA certified
Common Cases / Roles
- Orthopedics (total joints, sports medicine, hands, trauma)
- General Surgery
- GYN
- C-sections
- Endoscopy
Additional Role Expectations:
- CSTs must have some SPD (Sterile Processing Department) and HLD (High-Level Disinfection) experience
- All OR personnel assist with cleaning and room turnover alongside the orderly team
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience
- Strong orthopedic background required
- Previous travel experience preferred
Leadership Coverage
- Charge Nurse and ANM available for OR shifts
Shift & Scheduling
- Monday–Friday
- 8-hour shifts
- Typical hours: 0700–1530 (may adjust as needed)
Call Requirements
Weeknight Call:
- Begins at 1500
- Typically 1 night per week (4 per month)
- May increase if staffing decreases
Weekend Call:
- 1 full weekend per month (Friday–Sunday)
Holiday Call:
- May be assigned if holiday falls during contract
Call Response Time:
- Must remain within 30 minutes of hospital while on call
Floating Requirements
- OR team covers Endoscopy
- CSTs must assist with SPD and HLD duties (including endoscopy cleaning/washing during call)
Dress Code
- Blue scrubs
- Scrubs provided per Surgical Services attire policy
Orientation
- Paired with preceptor for unit-specific orientation
- Unit Norms and System Values reviewed during orientation
- TDOC used for instrument tracking
- ProVation used for Endoscopy documentation

Annual Wagon Days in early September brings the largest non-motorized parade in the Pacific Northwest to Main Street. It comes complete with marching bands, Basque dancers, western cowboys, wheels and wagons, concluding with a Street Party on Town Square.
