Travel RN Opportunity - Elko, Nevada
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery (L&D), Postpartum, Nursery
- Location: Elko, Nevada
- Employment Type: Travel Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Information
- Unit: Women’s Services
- Beds: 10 Postpartum, 6 Labor & Delivery, 1 Nursery, 1 C-section Suite
- Patient Ratios: Vary in LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum)
- Staffing: Core staffing includes 2 RNs; unit secretaries and tech availability vary by census
- Scheduling: No set schedule; bi-monthly scheduling
- Floating Policy: Yes
- Documentation Systems: Centricity, Medhost
- Dress Code: Personal scrubs currently; moving to L&D surgical scrubs; postpartum/nursery personal scrubs
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2+ years of RN experience in specialty (L&D and Postpartum required)
- LDRP experience preferred
- Comfortable working in LDRP setting
- Experience with procedures including C-section and spontaneous vaginal delivery (SVD) (No VBAC)
- Familiarity with fetal monitoring (FM), non-stress tests (NST), hearing screens, PKUs, phototherapy, and CSC
Certifications Required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- IFM/AFM (Inpatient Fetal Monitoring/Antepartum Fetal Monitoring)
- STABLE (Post-resuscitation/pre-transport care of sick infants)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- Preferred: ALS-OB (Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics) and Spinning Babies certification

- The unit has a mix of very experienced staff (20+ years) and new graduates, providing a supportive environment
- Approved for new equipment and a unit upgrade planned for next year

Prior Travel Experience
