Position Overview

• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals
• 36 or 48 hours/week accepted
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required
• EMR: Meditech

Unit Description

This 36‑bed renal unit cares for patients with acute and chronic kidney conditions, including those requiring renal replacement therapy. Nurses manage a 1:6 ratio and specialize in post‑hemodialysis care and ongoing peritoneal dialysis. The team collaborates closely with nephrologists, family practice providers, and hospitalists to deliver comprehensive renal care.

Required Experience & Skills

Must‑Have

• Minimum 2 years experience
  • Will consider 18 months if working under highest license and 1 year recent specialty experience
• AHA BLS (or Red Cross equivalent)
• Active RN license (Alabama or Compact; no temp licenses)
• NURSYS verification
• Strong renal, MS/Tele, and dialysis‑related experience

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (minimum)

Float Requirements

• Must float to other units and hospitals as needed

Dress Code

• Solid navy scrubs
