Job Summary
A facility in Corvallis, OR is seeking a dynamic leader for the role of Assistant Department Manager in the Emergency Department. This position balances clinical expertise with administrative support, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care for patients across the lifespan—from neonates to geriatrics. Working under the Nurse Manager, you will provide frontline leadership, employee support, and oversight of a department that handles everything from non-critical walk-ins to life-threatening cardiac and trauma emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Leadership: Provide effective management and support for ED staff, serving as a resource for complex clinical scenarios.
- Operational Oversight: Assure quality care and adherence to safety protocols in a fast-paced environment that includes urgent mental health and emergency transport arrivals.
- Regulatory Compliance: Oversee moderate complexity testing in accordance with CAP (College of American Pathologists) requirements.
- Staff Development: Assist in the mentorship and evaluation of employees to improve clinical competency and department efficiency.
- Patient Advocacy: Ensure a high standard of patient-centered care for a diverse population with varied medical and psychiatric needs.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience (Management courses or previous leadership experience highly preferred).
- Licensure: Current unencumbered Oregon RN License required at the time of submission.
- Certifications:
- BLS (Healthcare Provider Level)
- ACLS & PALS
- TNCC or ATCN (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- Documentation: Verification of high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory for CAP moderate complexity testing compliance.
Assignment Details & Expectations
- Unit Environment: A comprehensive ED certified to care for critical cardiac and trauma patients, including pediatrics.
- EMR: EPIC proficiency is required.
- Facility Address: 3600 NW Samaritan Drive, Corvallis, OR 97330.
- Submission Note: Submissions must include the candidate's "General Interview Time Available" and the preferred contact method (phone/email) to be considered.
