Cardiovascular ICU Registered Nurse – Nashville, TN 37203

Facility: Centennial Medical Center Unit: CVICU (Tower) Start Date: 02/16/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights, 3×12 (19:00–07:00) Experience Required: 2+ years

Unit Overview

Beds: 16
Ratios:
- 1:2 standard
- 1:1 for select device‑dependent patients
Staffing Support:
- Free‑floating charge RN
- Unit secretary (Mon–Fri, 07:30–15:30)
- Administrative Care Tech (Mon–Fri, 07:30–15:30)
- Nurse externs assisting with tech duties
Equipment:
- Philips bedside telemetry
- Hill‑Rom beds
- Alaris IV pumps
EMR: Meditech

Scheduling Requirements

Weekends: 2 per month
Holidays:
- 1 summer holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day)
- 2 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
Floating:
- Primarily to other ICUs
- May float to other floors as needed

Required Experience & Skills

Must‑Have

Strong critical care background
CVICU experience required
Proficiency with:
- PA catheter & hemodynamic monitoring
- Post‑operative cardiac surgery care
- Ventilator management
- Emergency response
Preferred advanced skills:
- IABP
- Impella
- CRRT

Procedures & Patient Types

Immediate post‑op cardiac surgery patients
ECMO
CentriMag
HM3 LVAD
Central line insertion
Swan‑Ganz insertion
Intubations
High‑acuity cardiac and surgical patients

Required Certifications

AHA BLS
AHA ACLS

Dress Code

Scrubs: Black, red, or galaxy blue
Scrub jackets/vests only
