Location: Savannah, GA -31419
Assignment Duration: 14 Weeks

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 14-week travel assignment in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown setting. The RN will provide high-quality, patient-centered care to adult patients with complex medical conditions requiring close monitoring, telemetry, and set-rate drips. Candidates must demonstrate a strong PCU skillset, prior travel experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced acute care hospital environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to PCU/Stepdown patients with conditions such as heart failure, sickle cell disease, and other medical-surgical diagnoses.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry readings.
- Administer medications and manage set-rate drips as per physician orders.
- Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Draw and process lab specimens (no phlebotomy support on unit).
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Utilize MEDITECH charting system for documentation.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
- Provide patient and family education regarding treatment and recovery.
Participate in self-scheduling and work every other weekend as required.
Unit Details – PCU 4N (Stepdown Unit)
- Beds: 12
- Patient Ratio: 4:1
- Nurse Aide Support: Yes (12:1)
- Telemetry Monitoring: Monitored on 3rd floor (Space Lab monitors)
- Respiratory Equipment: Nasal cannula, face masks, BiPAP
- Charge Nurse: Yes (takes assignment)
- Floating: Not required
Dress Code: Navy Scrubs
Skills Required
- Strong PCU/Stepdown experience
- Telemetry proficiency
- Experience with acute care hospital settings of similar size and acuity
- Ability to manage set-rate drips
- Competency in independent lab draws
Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
- Requirements
- Active RN License (Required at submission)
- Minimum 2 Years of PCU Experience
- At least 1 Completed Travel Contract
- BLS Certification (Required)
- Successful Clinical Resume Review
Must reside outside 100-mile radius (strictly enforced)
