Description

NICU RN – Nights (Level III–IV) – 13 Weeks

Start Date: ASAP or per facility approval Shift: Nights, 3×12 (7p–7a) Duration: 13 Weeks Openings: 2 Location: Brownsville, TX

Position Overview

Seeking experienced NICU RNs for a Level III–IV neonatal intensive care environment. This unit cares for high‑acuity neonates requiring advanced respiratory support, central lines, and continuous monitoring. Travelers must be comfortable floating to the Newborn Nursery as needed.

Requirements

Minimum 4 years NICU experience
At least 2 years Level III–IV NICU experience (required)
Active RN license
NRP & STABLE (required)
Strong experience with high‑acuity neonatal care
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
RTO must be submitted with profile

Unit Details

Beds: 10 NICU + 8 Stepdown
Staffing:
- Days: 1 Charge + up to 4 RNs
- Nights: 1 Charge + up to 4 RNs
Ratios: 1:3 and 1:1 depending on acuity
Equipment: HFNC, vents, SiPAP, HFOV, central lines, PICC lines, PIVs, feeding pumps, IV pumps
EMR: CPN / Meditech
Float Requirement: Newborn Nursery

Typical Patient Care

High‑acuity neonates
Ventilator and advanced respiratory support
Central line management
Collaboration with providers for intubations, chest tubes, PICC lines, and central lines

Scheduling

Shift: 7p–7a
Weekends: Minimum 6 weekend shifts per month (Fri–Sun)
On‑Call: None

Royal blue scrubs
