Job Description:

Specialty:  Ortho / Neuro Surgery along with Medical / Nephrology as needed

Patient Population e.g. “geriatric, adult, peds, etc.”: Adults ranging in age from 18-100

Weekend Hours:  at least 3 shifts per 4-week schedule

Call Requirements:  none

Float Requirements: Medical / Nephrology / Inpatient Rehab are sister units.  They may float to Cardiology to take lower acuity patients or Med/Surg.  May also float to Pediatrics to take adult patients only.

Additional Notes:  We are looking for travelers who are willing to be a part of a great team. They must follow and abide by all policies and guidelines while at SJRMC (same as the staff). 

Unit Overview:

Number of Beds:  24

Patient Ratios:  1:6 max – will see turnaround (admits and discharges) throughout the shift

Equipment:  IV pumps, VS monitors

EHR:  Cerner

Requirements:

Must live 100+ Miles from the facility 

2YRS+ Exp Working in Specialty 

2YRS+ Exp Working Only in Acute Care Setting 

ACTIVE BLS (AHA)

ACTIVE ACLS (AHA)

Must Have Skills/Experience: post operative patient care which includes ortho/neurosurgical/abdominal surgeries, NG tubes, chest tubes, foley catheter / turps, respiratory issues, diabetic patient care, sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, rib fractures, altered mental status, pain management

Preferred Skillset/Experience:  see above – great customer service/patient experience skills
