Job Summary

Seeking a highly experienced and board-certified professional to lead their Lactation Program. This unique role functions as a clinical expert and program coordinator, overseeing both inpatient and outpatient lactation management. While the role is posted as an RN position, BMC will consider qualified OT, PT, SLP, or Pharmacists, provided they hold the mandatory IBCLC board certification and meet the rigorous clinical hour requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Leadership: Provide expert assessment, consultation, and treatment for patients with advanced lactation support needs.
• Program Oversight: Coordinate lactation services across the continuum of care, ensuring high standards in both the 16-bed Family Birthplace and outpatient settings.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Formulate and communicate care plans with obstetricians, pediatricians, and midwives to meet patient-specific goals.
• Education & Teaching: Conduct outpatient prenatal and postpartum lactation education, including teaching individual consultations and group classes.
• Documentation: Manage clinical workflows and patient tracking within the Meditech Expanse EMR system.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Mandatory Board Certification: 1+ years of experience as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
  • Note: Equivalent or "lesser" certifications (such as CLC) are not accepted.
• Clinical Experience: Minimum of 2,500 hours as a breastfeeding consultant (Required).
• Specific Experience: * Must have experience in an inpatient hospital lactation program.
  • Must have experience in outpatient/prenatal education and teaching.
• Licensure: Valid Massachusetts professional license (RN, OT, PT, SLP, or Pharmacist) is required.
• Technical Skills: Meditech Expanse experience is strongly preferred.
• Certifications: Active BLS (AHA). All certs must be in hand at the time of submission.

• Agency Compliance: Per MA law, the agency's Massachusetts Temporary Nursing Service Agency License must be uploaded with the profile.
• Time Off (RTO): * Maximum of 5 days of RTO will be considered (less is preferred).

• Radius Rule: Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered.
• Transportation: Traveler must have their own reliable vehicle.
