Job Responsibility
- Collects pertinent data and information relative to the healthcare consumer's health or the situation.

- Delegates elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers in accordance with any applicable legal or policy parameters or principles.

- Unit Information:
- Beds: 14 private rooms, including two negative pressure rooms
- Minimum Years of Experience required – 2 years Critical Care (Resource Team requirement)
- Will you accept a first-time traveler – Not preferred but will consider (Resource Team)
- Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
- STEMI (unstable), cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, thoracic surgery
- CT Surgery to include CABG, Valve, Dissection
Skills required:
- Management of vasoactive medications, various surgical drains, chest tubes, ventilators, CRRT
- Invasive lines, including arterial lines, PA catheters, transvenous pacemakers
- Management of invasive devices, including IABP, Impella
- Support within the Department:
- Charge nurse – may or may not have patient assignment
- IV/VAT Team? yes
- RT 24/7
- Intensivist 24/7 (unit based)
- Technology/Equipment:
- EMR: Epic
- IV Pump: Alaris
- Med dispensing: Omnicell
- Monitors: Phillips
- Floating: Within region and scope of practice (Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH (peds only)))
Orientation (facility and unit):
- Orientation (facility and unit): NEO, 2 days departmental
Scheduling:
- Weekend rotation: every other; No call; Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays; RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours; Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
