RN – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

Location: Austin, TX

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (03/15/2026 – 06/13/2026)

Shift: 10-Hour Day Shifts (07:00 – 17:00) | Tuesday – Friday

Unit: Surgery 001 (CVOR Service Line)

Job Summary:

Seeking a high-caliber CVOR RN to support their advanced cardiac surgery program. This service line manages a high volume of complex interventions, including heart transplants, VAD placements, and adult ECMO. This is a "Hit the Ground Running" assignment designed for an expert clinician who requires zero training. You will be part of a specialized team capable of running four concurrent cardiopulmonary bypass procedures across 4–6 operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities

Advanced Cardiac Scrub/Circulate: Facilitate complex procedures including CABG, valve repairs, aortic dissections, and heart transplantations.
Mechanical Circulatory Support: Assist in the placement and management of Impella devices, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP), and Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD).
Endovascular & Structural Heart: Support TAVR procedures and complex vascular revisions within a dedicated endovascular suite.
Thoracic Excellence: Coordinate laparoscopic, robotic-assisted, and open thoracic cases.
Emergency Response: Act as a critical lead during emergent "re-do" sternotomies or ECMO cannulations.

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of recent, full-time CVOR experience in a high-volume hospital.
Proven Competency: Must provide verifiable references from at least two prior travel assignments confirming proficiency with no training needed.
Licensure: Active Texas State RN License or a Multi-State Compact License.
Certifications: * BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA) – Strongly preferred.
On-Call: Mandatory participation in the call rotation for after-hours, weekends, and potentially holidays.

Assignment Details & Expectations

Schedule: 40 hours per week (Tuesday through Friday).
Clinical Environment: This is a fast-paced, high-acuity surgical environment. Candidates with less than 3 years of experience or those requiring extensive onboarding will not be considered.
