Description
NICU Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Schedule: 36 hrs/week
Shift: Rotating or Nights
Weekends: Every third weekend rotation
Setting: Birthing Hospital – Level II & III NICU / Special Care Nursery
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced NICU RRT to provide respiratory care in a Level II/III NICU setting. Candidate must have strong neonatal experience and be comfortable working independently in high-acuity environments.
Requirements (MANDATORY)
- RRT Credential – Required
- NRP – Required
- BLS/CPR (AHA) – Required
- 2+ years of respiratory therapy experience
- NICU experience required (some pediatric experience acceptable in addition)
Preferred
- Delivery room experience
- Experience in birthing hospital NICU settings
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and interpret respiratory tests and procedures
- Manage artificial airways and mechanical ventilation
- Administer aerosolized medications and oxygen therapy
- Implement respiratory care protocols autonomously
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
