Travel Registered Nurse (ICU) - Maryland (Hagerstown)

• Shift/Hours: 36 guaranteed hours per week, every other weekend required (EOW)
• Patient Population: Trauma, Cardiovascular, Stroke, Neuro
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Floating: Floating within scope to Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) as needed
• Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
• On-call: Not required
• First-time Travelers: Not accepted (prior travel experience required)
• Locals: Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a reduced rate
• Pending License: Accepted

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Preferred 3+ years ICU experience; minimum 2 years with strong experience considered (use 3 years as requirement)
• Prior Travel Experience: Required (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Licensure: Valid Maryland RN license or compact RN license with proof of state residency (driver’s license must match compact license state)
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (AHA or APEX; must be obtained within first week if not already held)
• Special Requirements: EPIC electronic medical record system experience required

Additional Requirements

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Background Checks: 7-year criminal background check including SS trace, counties, nationwide, sex offender, and FACIS level 3; updated annually
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (specific mask types preferred)
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with specific timing for PPD tests)
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year
  • Flu vaccine required annually (no declinations accepted)
• Competency Exams: Medication/pharmacology competency and other core competencies as applicable
• References: Proof of 2 clinical references required
• Other: NURSYS license verification required

This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs with prior travel contract experience who are comfortable working with critical care patients in a trauma and stroke center environment.
