Job Opportunity: Temporary Ultrasound Technologist (General) – Evenings

Location: Waterloo, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Work approximately 36-40 hours per week (overtime billable after 40 hours)
• Average of 15 scans per day
• Patient types include General, OB/GYN (non high-risk), and Vascular
• Experience with abdomen, small parts, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester OB for dating, measurements, BPPs, fetal anatomy scans
• Proficient in transabdominal and transvaginal gynecologic imaging
• Skilled in upper and lower venous doppler, lower arterial doppler, ABIs, aorta duplex, carotid arterial doppler, hepatic and renal doppler exams
• Preferred experience assisting with fine needle aspirations, paracentesis, and thoracentesis procedures (not required)
• Use of EPIC EMR system required

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer (24 months)
• Experience in general/abdomen ultrasound
• Experience in non high-risk OB/GYN ultrasound
• Experience in vascular ultrasound
• ARDMS certification in Abdomen (AB) required
• ARDMS certification in Vascular Technology (RVT) highly preferred
• Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license for Ultrasound Technologists (if applicable)
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Valid driver’s license
• Experience with Med Surg, Tele, or Med/Tele settings (24 months required)
• Skills checklist specific to the ultrasound discipline required
• Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• Prior travel experience not required; first-time travelers accepted if they meet the 2-year ultrasound experience requirement
• Evening shift position
• Radius rule: minimum 50 miles, no local candidates
