Description

Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II (Cath/EP Lab) – 13 Week Contract

Location: Grand Blanc (1 Genesys Pkwy)
Contract Length: 13 Weeks (89 Contract Days)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Schedule: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM, 4 weekdays (1 variable weekday off)
On-Call Requirements:

1 weekend per month (Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 6:30 AM)
4 weeknights per month (5:00 PM – 6:30 AM)
No weekend commitment outside of on-call

Experience Requirements

Minimum 1–2 years recent Cath/EP Lab experience
Must be able to scrub for:
- Diagnostic & interventional heart caths
- Peripheral vascular procedures
- Structural heart procedures
- Electrophysiology (EP) procedures
Strong hemodynamic monitoring skills
Knowledge of Merge Hemo documentation system preferred

Clinical Competencies

Advanced ECG interpretation (including lethal arrhythmias)
ACLS-based intervention during cardiac arrest
Coronary anatomy identification in cine angiography
Cardiac pressure waveform interpretation
Hemodynamic calculations
Cardiac output, O2 saturation & ACT monitoring
Experience with:
- PTCA
- Atherectomy (rotational & directional)
- AngioJet, Rotablator, laser devices
- IVUS & Doppler technologies
- Pacemakers, ICDs, ablations
Knowledge of cardiac medications (generic & trade)
Recognizes abnormal lab values (ABGs, electrolytes, Hgb, BUN, creatinine)

Certifications & Education

Required:

BLS (BCLS)
ACLS (required within 6 months if not current)
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Graduate of accredited Allied Health program

Preferred Licensure:

RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
RCES (Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist)
ARRT with CI or VI credentials (with Cath lab scrub experience)

Strong scrub skills across all Cath/EP procedures
Comfortable working independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Assists with staff training and orientation
Participates in committees and special projects
Adheres to medical ethics and customer service standards
Demonstrates professionalism, teamwork, and adaptability
