Description

Job Summary:

Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs radiologic procedures to evaluate patients as ordered by a physician. Responsible for proper imaging techniques, patient positioning, radiation safety, and documentation.

Responsibilities:

Explain procedures and prepare patients for exams
Perform diagnostic radiology procedures per physician orders
Set up and operate radiologic equipment
Follow radiation safety and ALARA principles
Administer IV contrast (if applicable) and monitor for reactions
Prepare and maintain procedure rooms and supplies
Ensure proper documentation in PACS and RIS
Maintain patient safety, privacy, and infection control standards
Assist with training of new staff or students as needed

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required
ARRT Registered in Radiography (or registry eligible – must obtain within 6 months)
BLS (Healthcare Provider) required
Must maintain continuing education requirements
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Strong customer service and communication skills

Work Environment:

Hospital setting (may include IPD/OR/ER and mobile units)
Exposure to radiation and high-voltage equipment
May lift/move patients or equipment (10+ lbs)
