Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Step Down
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
Provide safe, efficient, age-specific nursing care to patients and families using the nursing process to help them attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health. Deliver relationship-based nursing care with technical skills that ensure safe practice and positive outcomes. Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively to optimize patient care and clinical operations. Demonstrate leadership to influence clinical and operational outcomes. Perform RN duties as assigned.
Nurse/Patient Ratio: 1:4 / 1:5 / 1:6
Floating Requirement: May be required to float to various inpatient areas including step down units, medical/surgical units, and emergency departments for care of boarded patients.
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Registered Nurse (RN) License: Must have a valid permanent RN license. Temporary licenses are not accepted. Primary source verification required within 30 days of start and updated upon expiration.
- Basic Life Support (BLS): American Heart Association only.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS): American Heart Association only.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
Required Qualifications & Compliance
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption (preferred, not required).
- Positive titers or vaccination/booster documentation for:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (full series or partial with declination form)
- Tdap (within last 10 years; no declinations accepted)
- Annual 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) with negative results; if positive, clear chest x-ray and current TB questionnaire required.
- Fit test for approved respirators completed within 1 year of start.
- Influenza vaccine proof required during flu season (October-March) or completion of specific masking and declination forms.
- Physical exam within one year prior to start confirming ability to work without restrictions.
- Drug screen within 60 days prior to start (10-panel, lab report required; instant screens not accepted).
- Criminal background check within 6 months prior to start, including social security trace, county searches, national sex offender registry, and OIG exclusion check.
- Fingerprint background checks as required by state residency duration.
- Verification of highest education level and employment history within last 5 years.
- Completion of required skills checklist, competency exams, and core competencies with passing scores.
- Completion of safety and compliance training modules prior to clearance.
