Description
Department: ICU *Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS* Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity. * * RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated * * **Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.** **Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract - Beds: 16 - Ratios: 1:2, occasionally 1:3 - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Variety of ICU acuity patients- vented patients, BIS scoring, TTM, IABP (rarely) - Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Vasopressors/inotropes, sedatives, heparin, octreotide, insulin - Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes - Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: No - Hospitalist &/or Intensivist in house 24/7? In the ICU 24/7?: eICU support in 14 rooms - Shifts & Scheduling: 7-7 / 6 week scheduling done by a scheduler - Weekend Requirements: Every other - Holiday Requirements: Will rotate with perm staff - Floating Requirements: Can float to PCU or MedSurg - Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue
