Job Summary
The Occupational Therapist works under the Rehabilitation Services Supervisor and Director, providing OT services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, developing treatment plans, implementing therapy interventions, documenting progress, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and supervising OT assistants. Weekend/holiday rotation may be required.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide OT services in inpatient and outpatient settings
- Evaluate patients and create individualized treatment plans
- Administer OT procedures across all age groups
- Act as case manager for assigned patients
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation
- Reassess and revise treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapy and home programs
- Train patients/families on adaptive/assistive equipment
- Communicate with physicians, families, and rehab team
- Participate in meetings, program development, and student supervision
- Maintain safe, clean treatment areas
- Support orientation of new staff and healthcare professionals
Required Skills & Experience
- 1 year of experience in acute care or outpatient hand therapy preferred
- New grads considered
- Strong clinical skills in OT evaluation and treatment
- Ability to treat Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patients
- Excellent interpersonal and critical‑thinking skills
- Ability to lift/push/pull patients and equipment
- Knowledge of OT laws and regulations
Education & Licensure
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)
- California OT license (required; applicants may be considered)
- NBCOT certification (required)
- BLS (AHA or equivalent)
- Preferred:
- CHT
- PAM certification
- Advanced Practitioner certifications (e.g., Hands)
- CCS paneling for NICU (or willingness to apply when eligible)
