Description

• Required Experience:
• RN: 2 years - Level 1 or 2 trauma experience

• Will you accept a first-time traveler? No

• Travelers must live >100 miles away from facility

• Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler

• Patient Types:
• Upper & Lower Endoscopy (to include advanced - EUS (Endoscopic US), EBUS (Endobronchial US), ERCP

• EGD and Colon

• Pre and Post Recovery (Phase I and Phase II) with some ICU level care needed.

• Patient Ratios:
• ENDO 1:1

• Pre-Op 1:2

• PACU Phase I - 1:1 or 1:2, based on acuity

• PACU Phase II - 1:2-3

• Required Certifications:
• RN: BLS, ACLS

• Required Education:
• RN: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing

• Skills required:
• RN:
• Endoscopy (to include advanced - EUS (Endoscopic US), EBUS (Endobronchial US), ERCP

• Anesthesia provides sedation.

• Support on the Unit:
• Endoscopy
• RN/Endo Tech x6

• Anesthesia (provided sedation-100% )

• Charting System/Equipment:
• EPIC (required)

• ION robot - robotic assisted Bronchoscopy

• Omnicell

• Alaris

• Floating: If yes, where?
• As needed (PreOp/PACU/Floor) - if floated out of peri-op services, will be as helping hands

• Will not be floated to Main OR as Primary RN

• Orientation: (facility and unit)
• 1 week

• Scheduling:
• Weekend rotation - every 3rd weekend

• Will they be on call? Yes - one overnight per week 7p-7a and every 3rd weekend.
• Sleep room will be in Pre-Op/PACU area as it will be closed

• Couches in break room

• 15 min response time

• If position is posted as Variable:
• Traveler would work 8 hour variable with one weekday call shift and every 3rd weekend on call

• Shifts that traveler would rotate through are: 0630-1500, 0730-1600, 0830-1700, 0900-1800

• Holiday Expectations: 2/4 major holidays

• Approval of time off? Reach out for Manager approval. May volunteer low census without pay.
