Fetal Cardiac Sonographer (Pediatric/Fetal)

Location: Tucson, AZ

Contract Duration: 12 Weeks (03/23/2026 – 06/20/2026)

Shift: Day Shift (08:00 – 17:00) | 5x8-Hour Shifts (40 hrs/week)

Job Summary

Seeking a highly specialized Fetal Cardiac Sonographer to join their cardiology specialty suite in Tucson. This role requires an elite level of diagnostic expertise, as the candidate must be dual-proficient in both Fetal and Pediatric Echo. As a critical link in the PCH fetal program, you will provide high-resolution imaging to assist in the diagnosis of congenital heart disease (CHD) in utero and follow-up care for pediatric patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Fetal Echocardiography: Perform comprehensive fetal cardiac scans, evaluating cardiac structure, function, and rhythm to detect complex congenital anomalies.
• Pediatric Imaging: Conduct full pediatric echocardiograms on infants, children, and adolescents with suspected or known cardiac conditions.
• Clinical Leadership: Act as a department leader, contributing to specialized projects and mentoring junior staff as part of PCH’s commitment to diagnostic excellence.
• Collaboration: Work directly under the medical direction of the Fetal Medical Director to ensure imaging meets stringent diagnostic criteria.
• Physician Communication: Provide detailed preliminary findings to pediatric cardiologists and maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) specialists.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: * Minimum 6 years of full-time pediatric cardiac sonography experience (Required).
  • Proven leadership track record or 3 years of PCH internal experience (Required).
  • 6 months experience specifically within the PCH Fetal Cardiac Program (Preferred).
• Education: Graduation from a CAAHEP or ACCSC accredited program OR 10 years of ultrasound experience.
• Certifications (Mandatory): * RDCS PE (Pediatric) or RCCS (Congenital).
  • RDCS FE or RDMS FE (Fetal).
  • BLS (AHA).
• Endorsement: Must receive endorsement from the fetal medical director and echo lab medical director.

• Work Location: 5983 E Grant Rd, Suite 201, Tucson, AZ 85712 (Tucson Specialty Care).
• Team Model: Integrated with the Phoenix Children's Cardiovascular Department, utilizing shared clinical protocols across the state.
• Professional Engagement: Membership in professional societies (ASE, SDMS, AIUM) is highly preferred.
