Job Opportunity: MRI Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Burlington, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an MRI Technologist with experience in Radiology/Cardiology for a travel contract position. First-time travelers are welcome as long as minimum experience requirements are met.
Schedule
- 4x8 hour shifts
- Saturday-Sunday: 8:00 AM - 8:30 PM
- Monday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of specialty experience required (MRI Tech)
- Previous charge experience required
- Experience in Adult Acute Care, Adult ICU, Adult Outpatient, ED Trauma required
- Pediatric Acute Care experience preferred
Required Certifications and Licenses
- ARMRIT or ARRT MR certification required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- PACS and Siemens system experience required
- EPIC experience required
- State licensure as applicable for MRI Tech in North Carolina
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Imaging expertise in:
- Abdomen, Abdominal MRA, Female pelvis, MRCP, Male pelvis (Abdominal MRV preferred)
- Chest
- Brain, Cranial nerves, Face soft tissue neck, Head MRA, Head MRV, Orbits
- Foot, Hand, Hip bony pelvis, Lower extremity long bones, Shoulder, Sternum, Upper extremity long bones
- Cervical, Lumbar, Sacrum coccyx, Spinal trauma, Thoracic, Thoracic MRA
- Isolation precautions, preparation and/or administration of contrast media, starting peripheral IVs
- Gradient Echo imaging, MIP, Spin Echo images, surface coils, T-1 and T-2 weighted images (MRP preferred)
Prior Travel Experience
- Prior travel experience not required (first-time travelers accepted)
Required Qualifications and Compliance
- Valid MRI Technologist license in North Carolina
- MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ARRT or ARMRIT certification
- Experience working with Adult patients in Acute Care and Outpatient settings
- Experience in Charge roles
- Imaging experience including Abdominal MRA, MRCP, Brain MRI, Head MRA, Head MRV, and Orbits MRI
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
- Social Security Card
- Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Foreign equivalency education evaluation if education obtained outside the U.S.
- Transcript/Diploma as applicable
- Education verification by a 3rd party
- Fingerprinting (NC SBI Fingerprint Results) required if applicable by position (Home Health and Long-Term Care only)
- Physical exam (if applicable)
- Fit mask test (annual, specific mask types required)
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Negative TB or Chest X-Ray (Qgold/TSPOT within 6 months)
- TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccination or titer proof
- Hepatitis B titer or declination
- Varicella vaccination or titer proof
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
- References: 2 supervisory references required for clinical positions (one within 12 months, one within 24 months)
- Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
- Work history verification for last 5 years
Competency and Testing Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (score 80%+)
- Color Blind Testing (online)
- Competency Exam (score 80%+)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (for RNs, not applicable here)
- Pass/Fail Testing for EPIC or Dysrhythmia/EKG testing (if applicable)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing for EPIC or Dysrhythmia/EKG (if applicable)
Additional Notes
- Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and aware of zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Candidate must complete all compliance requirements by deadlines prior to start date
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies including floating policy and contractor equipment acknowledgement
- Badge photo must meet strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire)
This position offers a comprehensive opportunity for MRI Technologists with a minimum of 1 year of experience, including those new to travel assignments, to work in a dynamic acute care environment with a variety of imaging responsibilities.
