Radiologic Technologist – Radiographer

Position Summary

The Radiologic Technologist – Interventional Radiology performs diagnostic and interventional imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The technologist operates radiographic and interventional equipment, ensures patient safety and comfort, and produces high-quality diagnostic images in accordance with established protocols and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform interventional radiology procedures in accordance with physician orders.
  • Assist physicians during minimally invasive, image-guided procedures.
  • Prepare and position patients appropriately for interventional and diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Operate radiographic equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain sterile technique and adhere to radiation safety protocols.
  • Review images for quality and accuracy prior to submission to radiologists.
  • Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately to clinical needs.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and report malfunctions as needed.
  • Adhere to infection control policies and departmental procedures.

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Interventional Radiographer.

Education & Certifications: 

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technologist training program, including Military Training programs.
  • Current certification and registration as a Radiologic Technologist issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Valid license as a Radiologic Technologist issued by the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH).
  • AHA - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
