Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology Outpatient (Infusion)

Position Summary
The RN – Oncology Outpatient provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse coordinates and delivers patient care using the nursing process in a hospital-based outpatient infusion setting.
This role is ideal for a nurse with infusion and oncology experience who thrives in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Clinical Practice
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care for patients with complex medical needs
- Perform patient assessments, identify priorities, and develop individualized care plans
- Administer and monitor infusion therapies
- Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required
- Assess and anticipate discharge needs
- Communicate effectively to ensure continuity of care
Care Planning & Coordination
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Identify expected patient outcomes and evaluate effectiveness of care
- Address cultural, psychosocial, safety, and educational needs
- Utilize multidisciplinary resources for optimal care planning
Professional Development & Leadership
- Participate in unit-based performance improvement initiatives
- Promote cost-effective, safe, and high-quality care
- Engage in continuing education and professional growth
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and public policy guidelines
Required Qualifications
- Nursing Diploma OR ADN/ASN from an accredited School of Nursing
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (AHA or ARC)
- Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records (required)
Schedule Details
- 40 hours per week
- 4 days per week
- 10-hour shifts
