Surgical Technologist – OR (1-Year Contract)

Location: Bridgeport, CT

Contract Duration: 51 Weeks (03/23/2026 – 03/20/2027)

Shift: 4x10-Hour Shifts | 40 Hours/Week

Schedule Details: Primary shift is 06:30–17:00; however, 30% of shifts will be 13:00–23:30 based on departmental needs.

On-Call: Required (approx. 6 weekdays and 6 weekend calls per 6-week block).

Job Summary:

A leading healthcare provider in Fairfield County, is seeking two highly experienced Surgical Technologists for a long-term, one-year assignment. This role is designed for a "top-tier" tech who thrives in a high-volume surgical environment. You will be expected to provide expert clinical support across a wide variety of complex cases, with a specific focus on high-acuity Orthopedic, Spine, and Robotic procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Advanced Scrub Role: Maintain a sterile field for complex procedures including Total Joint Replacements (Hip/Knee/Shoulder) and multisite Spine surgeries.
• Robotic Surgery: Independently setup and troubleshoot the da Vinci Surgical System, anticipating surgeon needs during robotic-assisted urology, gynecology, and general surgery cases.
• Instrumentation Management: Manage high-count instrument trays and specialized power tools required for orthopedic and neuro-spine interventions.
• Mentorship: Given the 1-year duration, serve as a stable, expert resource for the surgical team, assisting with the onboarding of shorter-term travelers as needed.
• Call Response: Participate in the surgical call rotation to ensure 24/7 coverage for emergent trauma and surgical needs.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: * Minimum 3 years of current OR Surgical Tech experience.
  • Previous travel experience is mandatory.
• Certification: Must be actively credentialed:
  • CST via NBSTSA OR TS-C via NCCT.
• Specialized Skills: * Strong proficiency in Total Joint and Spine surgery.
  • da Vinci Robotics experience is required.
  • A comprehensive skills checklist must be included with your submission.
• Compliance: BLS (AHA) required.

• Setting: General Surgery OR.
• Department Needs: Must be flexible with shift times (Day/Mid-shift rotation) and occasional weekend work.
