Description
Travel Opportunity – Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) – Nights
Bring your advanced respiratory expertise to a high-acuity, multi-campus health system in Shreveport, LA. This assignment is ideal for an experienced Respiratory Therapist who is confident managing critical care patients across the lifespan — including high-risk deliveries and Level III NICU/PICU support.
Position Details:
Start Date: 3/23/2026
Location: Shreveport, LA
Schedule: 3x12 Nights (7p–7a)
Contract Length: 12.71 Weeks
Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
Floating: Required across four campuses (20–25 minutes apart)
Call: 2 call shifts per month (2-hour minimum)
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive respiratory care for adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations
Manage ventilators and advanced airway support (Servo U/I, Trilogy, V60, EV300, Vapotherm, Airvo 2, Oscillator for NICU)
Attend high-risk deliveries and perform neonatal intubation when necessary
Support Level III NICU and PICU patients
Perform ABG puncture and analysis
Administer oxygen therapy, nitric oxide, and aerosolized medications
Respond to Code Blue and Rapid Response situations
Assist with non-invasive ventilation and advanced cardiopulmonary interventions
Support ground and air transports as assigned
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement patient-centered respiratory care plans
Patient Population & Clinical Exposure:
COPD, CHF, ARDS, Pneumonia, COVID
CABG, organ transplant patients, complex surgical airways
High-risk neonates, RSV, Cystic Fibrosis
Trauma and emergency respiratory cases
Requirements & Qualifications:
LA State Respiratory License required
National accreditation through NBRC required
RRT highly preferred (CRT accepted)
Minimum 2+ years of experience required
Must have completed at least one prior 13-week travel assignment
High-risk delivery and NICU/PICU experience required
BLS required
NRP required
ACLS preferred
PALS preferred
Valid driver’s license required (floating between campuses)
Additional Details:
36/48-hour rotation schedule
Management open to 7 on/7 off or rotating week schedules
Orientation includes system NEO plus facility orientation at all campuses
