Job Title: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner - remote position
Location: Remote
Shift: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Shift Schedule: Monday – Saturday
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 2 Years
Hours/week: 42 Hours per Week
- *Active Connecticut State NP License required*
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a PMHNP.
- Certificate of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients in a remote/provider home setting. The ideal candidate will conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnose and treat mental health disorders, prescribe and manage medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including mental status examinations, assessment of suicidal ideation, substance use, history of violence, and full psychiatric history.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, monitor effectiveness, and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services as appropriate.
- Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medication compliance, and expected outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Adhere to ethical standards, maintain patient confidentiality, and comply with all regulatory requirements.
- Stay current with psychiatric research, evidence-based practices, and professional development opportunities.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders and medication management.
- Experience with comprehensive psychiatric assessments and treatment planning.
- Comfortable with medication management for a wide range of mental health conditions (nice to have).
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Strong collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatry.
- Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in the Connecticut (CT) State
- Certificate of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a PMHNP.
