Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support our client’s medical facility based in Atlanta, GA 30342
This is a 13-week assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technologist / Medical Laboratory Scientist
Location: Atlanta, GA 30342
Core Hours: 8-hour Days (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, schedule varies)
Pay range: $1900/week
Duration: 13 weeks
*The salary is determined by an individual's level of experience, as well as any relevant licenses and certifications they may hold.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) for a high-volume hospital laboratory setting. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and capable of handling complex specimens with minimal training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate hematology testing and differentials, including neonatal samples
- Handle complex specimens (turbid samples, platelet clumps, abnormal cell findings)
- Maintain efficiency and accuracy in a high-volume laboratory environment
- Transition quickly with minimal training required
Required Knowledge:
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience within specialty
- Certifications required: ASCP, AMT, or AAB
- Must be a Medical Lab Technologist or Medical Lab Scientist (Lab Technicians will NOT be considered)
- Experience with Sysmex and CellaVision systems required
- Prior experience in a large hospital setting (600+ beds) strongly preferred
Qualifications:
- BS in Medical Technology, or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology. Alternatively, previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.1433 (published on March 14, 1990).
Experience:
- At least one year of clinical experience in high complexity testing is preferred. A minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience is required for candidates with a BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology.
