Position Summary:
The Radiation Therapy Manager is responsible for the daily technical and operational oversight of the Radiation Therapy Department across multiple clinics. This leader ensures high‑quality patient care delivery, regulatory compliance, efficient workflow, and the professional development of the radiation therapy team.
This role manages a team of Radiation Therapists and collaborates closely with Radiation Oncology leadership, physicians, medical physics, residents, and Cancer Center leadership. The manager also contributes to strategic planning, resource management, and facility expansion—including support for upcoming joint venture clinic launches.
*Approximately 10% of the role may include direct patient care depending on clinic needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of Radiation Therapy services across San Jose and Pleasanton locations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, departmental protocols, and safety guidelines.
- Monitor workflow efficiency, staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to maintain optimal clinic performance.
- Support the launch and operational setup of joint venture clinics.
- Directly manage Radiation Therapists, ensuring competency, training, and adherence to clinical standards.
- Provide coaching, performance evaluations, and support for continued professional growth.
- Foster a collaborative, patient‑centered team culture.
- Ensure precision in the delivery of radiation treatments in accordance with physician orders and protocols.
- Implement best practices for quality assurance, safety checks, and equipment usage.
- Participate in approximately 10% direct patient care as needed.
Strategic & Administrative Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic planning, market development, and volume‑growth initiatives.
- Assist in capital budgeting, equipment planning, and resource management.
- Contribute to program development and support organizational initiatives within Radiation Oncology.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible, directly related experience.
- Minimum 3 years of Radiation Therapy (RTT) leadership experience in a Manager, Chief RTT, Supervisor RTT, or Lead RTT role.
Licenses & Certifications:
- ARRT – Radiation Therapy (RTT)
- CA RTT (CRT-T)
- Current BLS (per standard hospital requirements)
- EPIC experience required.
Work Environment:
- Onsite 5 days/week (no remote or admin-from-home days).
- Role supports multiple network clinics and participates actively in a collaborative oncology community.
