Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath Lab / Interventional Radiology

Position Overview

The RN in this role serves as a key clinical resource, acting as the first point of contact for referrals and patients while supporting the interventional radiologist and medical team.

Patient Population

• Adult
• Geriatric

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for patient referrals
• Conduct patient consultations and assessments
• Perform initial examinations and comprehensive patient evaluations
• Provide recommendations to the referring physician, patient, and family under the guidance of the interventional radiologist
• Perform daily rounds and communicate patient progress to medical staff and radiologist
• Assist in cardiac cath and interventional radiology procedures
• Provide and monitor moderate sedation
• Ensure patient safety and adherence to procedural protocols

Procedures Performed

• Cardiac Catheterization
• Electrophysiology (EP) Ablations
• Peripheral Angiograms
• Cerebral Angiograms
• TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiogram)
• Cardioversions

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of current experience in Cardiac Cath and Interventional Radiology
• Experience administering and monitoring moderate sedation

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA) – Active
• ACLS (AHA) – Active

License Requirements

• Active Illinois RN License

Vaccination Requirements

• COVID Vaccination – Required (Declinations will NOT be approved)
