Position Summary

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive obstetric care in a rural hospital setting. The RN will support patients across the full continuum of maternal-newborn care including antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn nursery.

This role requires strong clinical skills, independence, and the ability to manage multiple phases of obstetric care in a lower-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for antepartum, labor & delivery, postpartum, and newborn nursery patients
• Perform patient assessments, monitoring, and documentation throughout all stages of care
• Assist with deliveries and provide postpartum maternal and newborn care
• Support newborn stabilization and routine nursery care
• Serve as OB circulator when needed (preferred experience)
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on maternal and newborn care
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow facility protocols

Schedule

• Day shift
• Holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active RN license in good standing (state of practice)
• Minimum 2 years obstetric nursing experience
• Ability to independently manage multiple OB care phases
• Experience in rural or low-volume delivery settings preferred
• OB circulator experience preferred

Certifications (Required)

• BLS / BCLS
• ACLS
• NRP
• STABLE
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring

Preferred / Additional Certifications

• PALS
• AWHONN certifications
• TNCC
• ENPC
• NIHSS
• Other specialty OB or emergency certifications may be accepted

Additional Information

• Approximately 20–30 deliveries per month
• Must be comfortable working across the full OB spectrum
• EMR experience preferred
• Orientation provided
