Description

American Consultants is seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) with Telemetry (Tele) and/or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience to support multiple hospitals in the Louisville, Kentucky area.

These roles require strong cardiac monitoring skills, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to care for moderately complex to higher-acuity patients in acute care settings. Nurses must be adaptable, team-oriented, and capable of meeting Norton Healthcare credentialing standards.

Nurses may be scheduled up to 40 hours per week based on availability and facility need.

Essential Responsibilities (Tele & PCU)

  • Provide direct patient care to telemetry and progressive care patients
  • Interpret and respond to cardiac rhythms and telemetry strips
  • Care for patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and step-down level care
  • Administer IV medications, cardiac drips (within scope), and treatments per physician orders
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and reassessments
  • Recognize and respond to rapid clinical changes and emergencies
  • Accurately document care in hospital EMR systems
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary hospital teams
  • Float within scope and competency as required
  • Maintain compliance with Kentucky Board of Nursing and facility policies

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Kentucky RN License (Compact license accepted if applicable)
  • Minimum 1–2 years recent Telemetry and/or PCU experience in an acute care hospital
  • Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
  • Experience managing step-down or higher-acuity patients preferred
  • Experience with hospital-based EMR systems
  • Ability to meet all Norton Healthcare credentialing requirements

Required Certifications

  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification
  • EKG Competency
