Location: Somerville, MA

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (03/24/2026 – 06/20/2026)

Shift: 8-Hour Days (NO block scheduling) | 40 Hours Guaranteed

Local Rate: (Local rate will be less than travel rate).

Job Summary

A recognized leader in providing comprehensive mental healthcare, is seeking two Licensed Social Workers for their Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Unit (6 East and 6 West) at the Somerville Campus. This is a specialized inpatient unit focused on stabilization for children and adolescents aged 3 to 17. The role requires clinical expertise in crisis intervention, family assessment, and discharge planning within a multidisciplinary academic community setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Assessments: Perform comprehensive psychosocial assessments, family assessments, and diagnostic interviews for pediatric and adolescent patients to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate therapeutic interventions for patients in acute emotional distress, utilizing de-escalation techniques and ensuring patient safety.
• Family Therapy & Liaison: Facilitate communication between families, the treatment team, and community resources; conduct family sessions to support the therapeutic process.
• Discharge Planning: Coordinate comprehensive discharge plans, connecting patients with outpatient therapy, school supports, and community agencies to ensure continuity of care.
• Documentation: Maintain meticulous clinical documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards (Epic EMR experience preferred).

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Masters degree in social work (MSW) is required.
• Licensure: MA Licensed social work license (LCSW, LICSW, or LMHC) is required at the time of submittal.
• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of social work experience in an acute care or inpatient psychiatric setting. Previous travel experience is preferred.
• Certifications: Current BLS (American Heart Association) required.
• Schedule: Must be available for day shifts and work every other major holiday.

Unit & Facility Details

• Patient Population: Pediatric and Adolescents (ages 3–17).
• Setting: 6 East & 6 West - Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Unit.
• Location: Somerville, MA 02143.
• Compliance: Flu Vaccine is mandatory during the season.

Financial & Logistics Notes

• Status: Group Order (2 hires needed).
• Radius Rule: Local candidates within 50 miles are accepted at a rate reduction.
• Scheduling: Block scheduling is strictly not offered.
• RTO: Must be included at the time of submission; requests after confirmation will not be approved.
