License

North Carolina Nursing License

Certifications

Basic Life Support

Description

Requirements:

Active RN License
BLS & PALS
Minimum 2 years high-acuity PICU experience (required)
Epic experience
Strong vasoactive drip titration and invasive line management
CRRT experience preferred
Competency with advanced critical care equipment

Position Details:

Manage high-acuity pediatric patients in a fast-paced PICU environment
Typical ratios based on acuity: 1:1, 1:2, or 2:1
Common diagnoses: respiratory failure, trauma (including NAT), DKA, seizures, neurosurgical cases, renal failure, transplants (kidney & liver), complex medical and hematologic disorders
Manage ventilators (including HFOV), trachs, chest tubes, epidurals, PCAs
Care for patients with EVDs, Camino (ICP/temp monitoring), Artic Sun, Belmont Rapid Infuser, EV-1000 Vigileo
Titrate vasoactive, sedation, and analgesic drips
Perform sterile procedures and bedside support during provider interventions
Utilize Alaris & Medfusion pumps; Omnicell medication dispensing
Participate in multidisciplinary rounds with intensivists, residents, and APPs

Patient Population: Neonatal (when floated) through adolescent critical care

Shift: Nights — 6:45 PM–7:15 AM (3x12s) No call required Float: May float to Pediatric CVICU, NICU, Neonatal PCU, or General Pediatrics as needed (competency discussed during interview) Job ID #17898664
