Pediatrics – MedSurg (8 Beds) Submission Requirements Can submit to only 1 position across the entire WVU system at a time Driver’s license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility Previous perm staff must be gone 2 years Previous travelers (worked 1 full year) must be gone 2 years Unit requirements listed in Pulse apply Travel teams must be submitted together in one email Only 2 candidates per opening (submissions held if position is full) Unit Details Beds: 8 Ratios: 1:4 (up to 1:5 based on acuity) Certifications Required: BLS, PALS Experience Required: 2 years pediatric experience + travel experience RNs must read their own strips Clinical Details General medical/surgical pediatric patients RNs titrate drips (fluids & medications) Charge nurse takes an assignment Nurse aides available (1:8 ratio) No in-house pediatrician 24/7 (ED providers/APPs available after hours) RT equipment available (vents, CPAP, BiPAP) No tele techs – central monitor at nurses’ station (Phillips monitors) Scheduling Shifts: 7A–7P / 7P–7A (Contract is for nights) Self-scheduling allowed (flexibility required; no guaranteed block scheduling) Must be willing to pick up day shifts if needed Weekends: Every other Holidays: Required Call: None Floating: Yes – Nursery/NICU Scrub Color: Navy Orientation: Unit-specific provided
