Job Summary

The Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Supervisor oversees nursing operations in the emergency department, ensuring high-quality patient care, efficient workflow, and compliance with clinical standards. This role combines clinical expertise with leadership responsibilities, supervising ER nursing staff and coordinating emergency care services.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support emergency room nursing staff during all shifts
• Coordinate patient care activities to ensure timely and effective treatment
• Monitor patient flow, triage processes, and emergency response procedures
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical standards, and safety regulations
• Provide clinical leadership and guidance during critical or high-risk situations
• Assist in staffing schedules, shift assignments, and workload distribution
• Train, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff performance
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and hospital administration
• Manage patient care documentation and ensure accuracy of medical records
• Oversee infection control, medication administration, and emergency protocols
• Handle patient or family concerns and resolve issues professionally
• Participate in quality improvement and emergency preparedness planning

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 3–5 years of emergency nursing experience
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred
• Certifications such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, or TNCC (as required)
