Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Rehabilitation Services, the Physical Therapist (PT) or Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for directing and delivering rehabilitative therapy services. This role includes evaluating, planning, and implementing individualized treatment programs while supporting departmental operations, performance improvement initiatives, and compliance with regulatory standards.
The therapist ensures efficient department function, supports quality improvement efforts, maintains accurate documentation and billing practices, and promotes patient-centered, safe, and effective care.

- 13-week contract
- Monday – Friday
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- No holiday coverage required
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and reassessments across the lifespan (neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric).
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Administer therapeutic modalities and physical agents as prescribed.
- Monitor patient response to treatment and recommend modifications as needed.
- Assess and address pain impacting function and rehabilitation progress.
- Provide patient and family education tailored to identified learning needs.
- Maintain patient dignity while addressing psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs.
Departmental & Operational Duties
- Coordinate and supervise therapy services within the department.
- Participate in performance improvement and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives.
- Support budget development and monitor department performance.
- Ensure timely and accurate patient charge entry.
- Maintain compliance with state, federal, and local regulations.
- Ensure equipment safety, maintenance, and departmental cleanliness.
- Assist in training and mentoring staff as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience (3+ years preferred) in physical or occupational therapy
- Current and active California PT or OT license
- Current BLS (BCLS) certification
- Strong knowledge of:
- Anatomy, physiology, and disease processes
- Rehabilitative medicine principles
- Infection control and sterile technique
- Therapy equipment operation and safety
