Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician / Medical Technologist

Contract Duration: 26 Weeks
Shift: Variable – 8 Hour Shifts (Days, Evenings, or Nights)
Minimum Experience: 2 Years

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Laboratory Manager, the Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist is responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory tests, conducting quality control procedures, and communicating results effectively with physicians, nurses, and patients. This role requires strong generalist experience and the ability to work independently.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform testing in chemistry, blood bank, hematology, and microbiology
• Operate and maintain clinical laboratory instrumentation
• Conduct quality control and ensure regulatory compliance
• Report accurate and timely results
• Provide guidance and direction to Medical Laboratory Assistants
• Function as a laboratory generalist across departments

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field required
• Board eligible by ASCP or NCA; must obtain certification within one year of employment
• MT certification through ASCP or CLS certification through NCA within one year required
• One to three years of related experience or completion of a formal student internship
• Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment
